Our Story

A family living our dream — and sharing the keys.

Home Farm Healesville is run by Elizabeth and Matthew Lodge alongside their four young adult children. Forty-three acres of pasture, food forest and quiet bushland that adjoins Toolangi State Forest — first cared for by Rex and Helen Bexley, now stewarded by us.

We farm by permaculture principles, with bee hives, chickens, gardens and a simple belief: allow nature to do its thing. Thrive. When you stay, you're part of that rhythm for a few days — or not, if a long bath and a glass of something local is more your speed.

The Yarra Valley

Wineries, sanctuaries, slow drives through the hills.

You're an hour from Melbourne and minutes from some of Australia's best cellar doors. Spend a morning at Healesville Sanctuary, a long lunch at TarraWarra, an afternoon at the Yarra Glen Chocolaterie — then come back to the farm in time for sunset.

Toolangi State Forest begins at our back fence. Maroondah Reservoir is a short drive. Hot air balloons drift over the valley most clear mornings.
